"Is France gonna make it?"

👍 Watching the recent unrest unfold across France, this scene from HBO's Succession immediately came to mind. In Season 4, Episode 5, "Kill List," which aired on April 23, 2023, Lukas Matsson casually asks whether France is going to survive. What seemed like a darkly humorous exchange about Europe's uncertain future feels strangely relevant three and a half years later.

Sometimes, Succession feels less like satire and more like a prediction.

❤️ The first promotional photoshoot for Twilight (2008).

Before the movie was released, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were photographed for Entertainment Weekly by Jeff Riedel for the films first major magazine shoot. The photographer said he based the whole thing on old romance-novel covers, imagining "a hero whisking his woman in distress away," which is why the photos feel way more dramatic and romantic than the movie itself.

👍 They actually had them standing in a real pond, getting soaked and carrying each other through muddy water.
Riedel later said the shoot only worked because neither of them complained about the conditions: "If they were divas, I don't think we would've been able to pull that off."

🚗 40 years later, Back to the Future remains one of the most beloved and untouchable classics in cinema history.

⚡️ A timeless masterpiece that set the standard for time-travel movies and became the benchmark against which the genre is still measured.
