These photos were taken in the Hibiny Mountains near Kirovsk, Russia, beyond the Arctic Circle.
The story was simple, but inspiring. A friend asked me to meet someone who had come here to become a snowboard trainer. He wanted to hike before winter arrived, which happens very quickly in this region.
Autumn had already turned the landscape gold and red, with short trees, bushes, moss and rocks all around us.
He brought his dog, and we headed up while the weather was still calm. I took my camera, hoping for the golden hour.
Higher up, the little dog got tired, so we stopped and decided to head back. As storm clouds gathered, the golden hour finally appeared, revealing all the autumn colors.
It lasted about twenty minutes before everything turned dark and stormy. We also found berries and mushrooms along the way.
In short, it was a friendly hike with a beloved pet and a brief glimpse of sunset before the storm.

WHAT TO SUBMIT
We primarily welcome photo series and visual stories — a group of photographs connected by a shared subject, person, place, experience, or idea.Your
series does not need to be a large or formal project. It can be a small story from everyday life, aslong as the photographs belong together and help tell something as a whole.For a photo series:Please
send 3–10 photographs from the same story or project, along with a short description of what the work is about.If you do not have a complete series but have a particularly strong individual photograph with a meaningful story behind it, you may also submit it for consideration.Please avoid sending a random selection of unrelated photographs.We appreciate every photographer who shares their work with us.While we are unable to feature every submission, each one will be considered carefully as part of our editorial selection.

Image requirements:
• Photographs taken with either a camera or a mobile phone are welcome.
• Please send the highest-quality version available, preferably at least 2000 pixels on the longest side.
• JPEG is preferred for submission.
• Horizontal and vertical photographs are both accepted.
• Please send images without watermarks, logos, borders, or added text.
